City of Redmond, Washington

The City of Redmond, a municipality located 15 minutes east of Seattle, is home to many well-known companies, including Microsoft and Nintendo of America. As a graphic designer on Redmond’s communications team, I worked with multiple City organizations to create internal and external outreach materials.

Camps, classes and events were the largest revenue producer for the City’s Parks and Recreation department. I was responsible for the design and production of the Summer Camp Guide; a quarterly Activity Guide; Fitness Center informational material and event advertising.

I incorporated photos, fonts and design elements that represented the Parks and Recreation department’s unique identity and reflected the diversity of the City’s community.

TrackMole was an app that helped law enforcement around the country connect individuals with recovered lost and stolen property. The Redmond Police Department was looking for a way to encourage enrollment in the program, and requested a business card-sized information sheet that officers could easily carry and distribute to residents. Considering the small-size of the document, I implemented simple visual cues to communicate the app’s function and attempted to keep text minimal. The resulting design aims to pique the interest of citizens and empower them to safeguard valuables with TrackMole.
